Week 5 was another tough week for us. We finished 7-8 against the spread. That’s pretty average for most people, and it’s the way the books like it. BUT NOT US. We don’t accept those kinds of weeks. Our 2019 NFL Week 6 picks will have to be better. Let’s get into these games.
Overall Record ATS: 37-40-1
THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL
On Thursday, we witnessed the New York Giants travel to Foxboro to take on the New England Patriots. With the Giants missing Saquon Barkley, Evan Engram, Wayne Gallman, and Sterling Sheppard there probably wasn’t going to be a spread large enough to deter me from taking New England. For me, it was a forgone conclusion that the Giants’ offense wouldn’t score more than 10. So, when the 17.5-point spread in favor of the Patriots came out, I was excited to get some free money.
New England went out, and while they struggled early, their defense did everything I expected them to do. They caused four turnovers and gave up only one TD, and even that was perfectly thrown by Daniel Jones. The Patriots went on to win and cover by a score of 35-14. This is the second week in a row where we nailed the TNF pick. Hopefully, we’ll make this week a good one.
