Last week might have been my worst week as an NFL Analyst. I’m not quite sure how all of those games ended the way they did. The Jaguars scored only six points against Tennessee. Buffalo went out and put on a show for the ages in Minnesota. New England refuses to go along with my picks. Who expected all of those things to happen?
Certainly not I. For that reason, we finished Week 3 with an overall record of 19-28-1 against the spread. That record is poor, to say the least. An improvement must come, and I believe it will as we start to learn more and more about these teams. It seems as those parity has returned to the NFL, giving it the “Any Given Sunday” feel once again.
Week 4’s episode of Thursday Night Football was one of the best games of the season. Two teams with high-powered offenses and top-tier defenses faced off, as the Minnesota Vikings took on the Los Angeles Rams. Jared Goff and Kirk Cousins both looked really solid, but Goff looked incredible. He was making throws all over the field, including an amazing on-the-run dart to Cooper Kupp, one of Kupp’s two TDs.
We took the Rams -7, and they ended up defeating the Vikings 38-31. So, that’s a push. For all of our new gamblers, a push is as good as a win. That’s only our second push on the year, so I’m thankful for that.
