Overall Record entering Week 15: 117-77-11
Thursday Night Football
This game was destined to be a classic. The NFL schedule worked out in fans’ favor, as two top teams in the AFC were going at it in primetime on TNF. Kansas City had only two losses entering the game, and the Chargers have been on quite a spectacular run since the first few weeks.
Without Melvin Gordon and Austin Ekeler, I believed it would be tough for the Chargers to take a win. Then the game started and they lost Keenan Allen early. With the cards stacked against them, the Chargers put together a game-winning drive in the fourth quarter to take a 29-28 victory.
We took the Chiefs (-3.5), so it’s an early L for us.
Saturday Football
What a great time of year! Football on four days a week. It’s amazing.
In the early game we took the Texans (-7) over the New York Jets. The Jets kept it close for most of the game. However, a late FG by Houston made it a seven-point victory and gave us a push.
The late game featured the Broncos and the Browns. Somehow, the Browns are still in playoff contention, and they’re playing like they want to make it. Their play hasn’t been phenomenal, but there’s been a lot of passion. With that said, we took the Broncos (-2), strictly because of the home-field advantage of Mile High. I figured that, along with Denver’s pass-rush, would be enough to derail the Browns. Baker Mayfield and company had other plans. They took a 17-16 victory, and for the first time in forever, the Browns are somehow still in playoff contention this late in the season.
