Throughout this miniseries, I’ll try and give some credit to, who I consider, the best sports content creators online. We’ll look at Instagram, YouTube, and Twitter. I’ll focus mainly on small-medium type outlets.
Let’s recognize some greatness.
What does NTE do?
Drew Morris, a.k.a Not The Expert, is a YouTuber with 212K subscribers. He’s gained plenty of popularity from his UGF Pandas series, where he takes a one-star prestige school on NCAA Football ’14 all the way to the National Championship. Even before UGF, NTE was already pumping out quality content. I, myself, started following him after I saw one of his Colts franchise videos on Madden ’18.
What makes NTE great?
As his name says, Not The Expert is just an average guy playing sports video games. It’s his simplicity that makes him exceptional. In a time where plenty of other YouTubers go over the top with clickbait or overreactions, Drew keeps his head and knows it’s all just for fun. It also helps that his level of editing and content is excellent, and he was (along with PerramCrowe), one of the pioneers in bringing NCAA Football ’14 back.
Drew has somewhat developed a cult following from his UGF Pandas series. Fans follow the Pandas as if they were a real team, and the merch is actually dope. Look no further than the comments of any of his videos and the most common one is something along the lines of “Dropped what I was doing to watch this video…” And don’t get me started on the uproar if Drew fails to upload any UGF for more than five days. Fans go nuts.
Here’s a link to the UGF Pandas series. I seriously recommend you go check it out, especially since you get to enjoy the days of Horton, Denman, Hale
Not The Expert is one of the best sports YouTubers right now, and he definitely deserves some recognition for his GREATNESS.
