MRI results have concluded that Milwaukee Bucks’ star Giannis Antetokounmpo has no structural damage to his left knee, as reported by Adrian Wojnarowski.
This was a sigh of relief for Bucks fans as Antetokounmpo will be likely miss the rest of this years’ playoffs.
Yes, injuries are a part of all sports. However, it’s still heart breaking whenever a player suffers an injury. This injury is especially devastating as Antetokounmpo was on track to win his first NBA championship. The Bucks were well positioned to be the championship favorites, lead by their 2x MVP.
The Bucks were already struggling prior to the Antetokounmpo injury. They would go on to lose game four to the Atlanta Hawks, 88-110. The best of seven series is now tied at 2-2.
Antetokounmpo’s expected injury recovery timeline.
Although Antetokounmpo’s recovery will be much easier than an ACL tear, he will still need to miss a decent amount of time.
Luckily, Antetokounmpo avoided the ACL injury many had feared, as those injuries take much longer to recover from. Antetokounmpo would have likely missed all next season if that were the case.
Worth noting, Antetokounmpo was able to walk off the court alongside his older brother, Thanasis Antetokounmpo.
Wishing Giannis a quick recovery.
