It was a cold night in the windy city, late in October, when we witnessed it for the first time. It was a spectacle unlike anything we had ever seen. Some of our elders claim that they are old enough to even see kings of the past wearing it. What would appear to be a piece of stretchable cloth was much more. More of a crown meant to be worn by the finest of champions. It comes in different colors, but one size fits all. It can be worn differently, but it’s power is transferable. I searched long and hard for it and I have finally found it… on the Google. Yes fam, it’s official, I’m buying a headband.
The Houston Rockets (9-10):
First Klay Thompson, now James Harden with a 50+ headband performance. James Harden’s natural MVP powers were amplified by the headbands. Even his turnovers were amplified as they were a part of his triple double. 54 points, 13 assists, and 11 turnovers. While the average human being is impressed, I’m not. I could easily drop 13 turnovers if I had a headband, just saying.
The Boston Celtics (11-10):
In case you missed it, I wrote an article earlier in the day, explaining what was wrong with the Boston Celtics. To summarize it, I called them soft. They proved me right by stepping up against the Pelicans, playing the exact opposite of how they had been playing lately. Hayward showed us why we need him with clutch three late in the fourth, part of the siege that the Celtics unleashed on Anthony Davis’ tryout with the Celtics. 72-10, here we come.
The Utah Jazz (9-12):
If Donovan Mitchell isn’t taking 35+ shots, suddenly this team can’t score. Well, they were kind of like that last year, which is why I wasn’t a big believer in them. Too bad they let go of Derrick Rose, they could use him. Seriously though, I don’t understand how a guy like Jamal Crawford didn’t end up on this team. They need a shot creator, desperately.
Other stories around the NBA:
John Wall and the Wizards are still capable of getting up for national television games, which is why I hate the Wizards. They have an insane amount of talent. The only player capable of having a monster game and still losing, more than Kemba Walker, is Giannis Antetokounmpo. The East runs through Cleveland, and so did Minnesota. Spurs upset the Bulls. DeRozan still aims for a lot of 2’s, like my ex. Marcus Smart is the greatest Celtic of all time, apparently. Doug McDermott is still in the league, had no idea. Kevin Durant and Aaron Gordon combined for 49 points in a heated match up. Durant only managed to outscore Gordon by 49.
