Dirk Nowitzki’s 53 point explosion on December 2nd, 2004, further cemented what the Mavericks already knew, Dirk was special. What made the game even more exciting is that he would go toe to toe with Tracy McGrady, who had 48 that night.
How would Dirk Nowitzki do in today’s NBA?
Dirk would succeed in any era he played in, dominate even. He would most certainly be ranked among the top power forwards in the NBA today.
Nowitzki’s ability to stretch the court, at 7’0″, was revolutionary for the big man in the NBA. He would inspire big men, both domestically and internationally, to shoot the ball from distance. While this may be the norm in today’s NBA, it wasn’t always like that.
Nowitzki averaged .380 3P% on 3.4 3PA per game.
How do you think Dirk would perform in today’s NBA? Could Dirk Nowitzki have another 53 point explosion? Perhaps he could do even better?
