Suns Guard Eric Bledsoe has been stirring up a lot of attention these past couple of days, and it all started with his tweet two days ago.
I Dont wanna be here
— Eric Bledsoe (@EBled2) October 22, 2017
Once management got a hold of this news, it made it hard to believe that Bledsoe was “at a hair salon” when he tweeted it, which was his excuse. He met with the team yesterday prior to shoot around, and the team sent him home. Chris Haynes reported the news first:
ESPN Sources: Eric Bledsoe met with team this morning before shootaround and he was sent home. He will not play tonight against Sacramento.

Management has made it clear that they aren’t going to have Bledsoe moving forward, which opens the door for Phoenix to test the trade value in Bledsoe. The Kentucky product is entering his eighth NBA Season, and being a part of a losing team in Phoenix, the frustration wasn’t a surprise. The rebuild is in full effect for the Suns and with rising star Devin Booker being a vocal point for Phoenix, it was only a matter of time before Bledsoe had enough. Since being traded to the Suns in 2013 the shifty guard has put up 18.4 points per game with a healthy field goal percentage at 43%. While putting Bledsoe on the trading block, teams have shown some interest in the vet. These are two of the teams I could see him landing with:
New York: Although Bledsoe wants to win more than anything, the Knicks would be a great fit for him. The Knicks have lacked depth in the guard position for many seasons and with the right deal, New York could acquire their new starting point guard. Playing alongside Kristaps Porzingis, who has been nothing but impressive the last few seasons, creates a nice little dynamic duo. The question then becomes: is Bledsoe able to aid a losing team?
Cleveland: With IT and Derrick Rose out with injuries the point guard position is wide open, and teaming up with superstars LeBron James, Kevin Love, and Dwyane Wade can only improve his craft even more. This move would be a solid short term spot for the time being but could cause problems later down the line. Derrick Rose is set to come back in two weeks, and IT is set to return in January. The likelihood of Bledsoe acquiring minutes long term are very unlikely.
Moving forward, if any organization wants to keep a guy like Bledsoe around, please encourage him to use his twitter wisely
