One of the biggest differences in the NBA social media strategy, vs any major sport, is its willingness to allow content creators to post NBA highlights without taking them down. I’ve been running Per Sources for almost 8 years, and have been following the best NBA Instagram pages. Some have come and gone, while others have continued to flourish. I know the landscape pretty well.
Here are the best NBA Instagram pages to follow in 2021.
Persources.
First, let me introduce the page I run, persources.
I’ve been running persources essentially since summer of 2014. We’ve built a loyal following of NBA fans from all over the world. While some pages prefer to keep their personal opinions aside, The Great TPR has never hesitated to criticize popular players. We also have a fun NBA discord community that you can join here.
Sidelinesources.
sidelinesources is the must follow for NBA fans.
Based in Canada, Sideline sources has been running since January 7, 2014. What makes Sideline Sources a top NBA Instagram page to follow in 2021 is because he is the fastest to upload a variety of must see highlights from NBA games, as they occur. This page has essentially become what House of Highlights used to be.
They have also launched sidelinesources.com, currently covering the NBA, NFL, soccer, and more.
Bball.
One of my favorite pages to follow on Instagram is John Antonelli’s @bball.
BBall has been around since July of 2015 and is run by one of the most passionate NBA basketball fans you’ll ever meet. Not only does BBall provide great content to their community, they take it a step further with their “Real Sports” NBA social media app which connects NBA fans in real time to ongoing NBA games.
Hoopsnation.
Hoopsnation is another great option NBA Instagram page to follow in 2021.
Hoops Nation, founded in September of 2016 by Buster Scher, has been one of the best aggregator of basketball content. If you want a healthy mix of memes, highlights, and a variety of content related to the game of basketball, hoopsnation is a good NBA Instagram page to follow in 2021.
Bounce.
Bounce has been one of the NBA Instagram pages I’ve been following for years.
Did you know there are diehard NBA fans in Australia? Elliot has been cover NBA basketball, via his IG handle Bounce, since August of 2015. He provides quality NBA content in an organized matter, making Bounce one of my personal favorite NBA Instagram pages to follow.
If you follow him, be sure to taunt the 76ers as he is a Sixers fan.
Dunk.
Anytime Gary Vee mentions you on a podcast, you’re doing something right.
Dunk was founded in August of 2013. Similar to Hoops Nation, Dunk has been a leading provider of a variety of basketball content.
Gary Vee even called dunk’s founder, Eliot Robinson, the “best”.
Some personal favorite NBA Instagram handles to follow.
As a Celtics fan, greenrunsdeep is my favorite follow.
As a Celtics fan, trolling Lakers fans like the very talented TyOneOnSports makes her another one of my favorite NBA IG pages to follow.
Another quality follow is the up & coming bears_beets_basketball.
Last but not least, the legendary Mike Dunn.
Seemikedunn is a must follow for basketball players of various ages. It doesn’t matter what level of play you are at, from youth to professional, even the NBA, you can benefit from following this page. Not only is he one of the most gifted shooting coaches on the planet, he often breaks down where NBA players are struggling, and highlights what they are doing right.
Honorable mention.
GirlsTalksSportsTV
Although this is not a page that directly covers the NBA, girlstalksports.tv is the absolute must follow for WNBA fans. No one understands the WNBA as well as their founder, Khristina Williams. Her page is absolutely the best WNBA Instagram page to follow in 2021.
