63 games into a regular season, you’d figure we’d know a little something about the NFL. We may only really know one thing. The Chiefs and Rams appear to be pretty solid behind “Showtime” Pat Mahomes and Jared Goff.
After that, I’m still at a loss.
Miami went into New England 3-0, looking to put the Patriots down three games in the division for the first time in the Tom Brady era. New England put a quick stop to that in a 38-7 stomping. Fitzpatrick came all the way back down to earth, handing the job right back to Jameis. Philadelphia suffered a defeat at the hands of the Mike Vrabel-led Titans on a soul-crushing drive. Colts HC Frank Reich opted to go for it in overtime to basically hand the win to Houston.
Minnesota, New England, and Philly were all expected to be Super Bowl contenders. Through four weeks, they were all stuck at 2-2. Nothing is truly known about the NFL right now. Parity seems to have found a way back into the league that needed it. Each week you must forget what you think you’ve learned from the week prior. Throw it all out because none of it matters. It’s something the NFL has preached for years, but now, it’s finally a thing.
Record Entering Week 5: 25-35-3
Thursday Night Football brought us the Indianapolis Colts traveling to the New England Patriots. With the Colts significantly bruised and battered, the Patriots were able to run right over them. The score was really closer than the game felt due to a couple unlucky bounces of the ball off of Chris Hogan and Rob Gronkowski. We took New England, who were favored by 11. The 38-24 victory gives us our first win of the week.
