What We Learned Last Week
Tennessee struggled against Jacksonville, getting shutout 20-0. Yes, it was against arguably the best defense in the league. They still should’ve put something on the board. This problem has been persistent this season. Since Delanie Walker went to IR, the Titans have been hard-pressed to find a good option for Mariota to throw to. Corey Davis is on pace for a 1,000-yard season, but beyond that, the outlook is bleak. HC Mike Vrabel and OC Matt LaFleur need to find a way to get the two-headed monster of Dion Lewis and Derrick Henry rolling to take some pressure off of Mariota, who’s been battling his own injury.
The Packers defended Lambeau against a Jimmy G-less 49ers team. However, they only managed to squeak off a Mason Crosby game-winning FG as time expired. We can all agree that CJ Beathard isn’t a franchise QB, right? Right. To me, this should be worrisome for the Packers. Their defense was supposed to be improving this year, but giving up 30 to a team that lost their starter just a few weeks back isn’t ideal. On the offense, the running game has been the problem. Aaron Jones and Ty Montgomery have been the more efficient RBs both last year and this year, but the Packers insist on giving Jamaal Williams the ball. Hopefully, with Williams potentially sidelined this week, the Packers will see some semblanceĀ of a successful rushing attack.

Thursday Night Football
This week’s TNF game featured the Denver Broncos and Arizona Cardinals. Josh Rosen, and now former OC Mike McCoy made the Broncos defense look like those that went to back-to-back Super Bowls a few years back. Denver was favored by one point in this game, and I pounded that pick! Arizona has been putrid all season, and now they look to Byron Leftwich, former Jags QB and current interim OC, to fix their problems. Good luck with that!
